ANZAC Parra-amble postponed
The family friendly event to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of cease fire at Gallipoli to be held on Sunday May 24, 2015 will now  support Parramatta Day in November. The postponement of The ANZAC Parra-Amble, a discovery walk around Parramatta as a fund raiser for Australian Rotary Health, means more people will have the opportunity to experience Parramatta in November 2015.

The Rotary Clubs of Parramatta City, Parramatta Day Break, Parramatta, Blacktown City, Kincumber and Penrith Valley have supported the event to commemorate the ANZAC Centenary. Together with Australian Rotary Health, they hope to raise $35,000 for a new ANZAC PhD Scholarship.

The inaugural Parra-Amble had 200 participants, involving everyone from preschoolers to corporates. “It was the best fun I've had in ages!” said Dianne Ellis, Parra-Amble team captain. Another participant said it was an absolute ball and they are already thinking about fund raising for the next Amble.

The ANZAC Parra-Amble in November will raise funds to research  Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for returned Veterans and their families.

It’s good news for many Sydney residents that the ANZAC Parra-Amble will go ahead in November. Special thanks to the 80 volunteers from Rotary, Lions, local schools, cadets, community first aid, volunteer rescue association  and the community who give up their Sunday to make the event happen.

We thank the Parramatta City Council, Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and the major sponsors for their continual support.

The ANZAC Parra-Amble will be a celebration of 100 years of the ANZAC Spirit in a fun way!  Details online at www.parra-amble.com.
