The Hills Rotaract Club, Norwest Sunrise and The Hills-Kellyville Rotary clubs would love to see you all at our BOLLYHILLS 2015 fundraiser to be held on 31 October 2015 at the Our Lady of the Lourdes School Hall, Grantham Road Seven Hills.   This event will support the MEDICOS 4 BOLIVIA project of the Rotary Club of Norwest Sunrise (Bella Vista) and the School rebuilding project in Vanuatu of the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville.
 
The tickets are priced at $50 per person - why not book a table of 10 to have an exciting evening with Rotary Fun and Fellowship. 
 
Medicos 4 Bolivia project is a collaborative work with the Open Heart International thru a Rotary Foundation Vocational Training Team Grant.  OHI will have a team will of 10 members, which will includes Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Theatre Nurses, Profusionist, Anaesthetist, and Post-Operative Intensive Care Professionals  The team will perform and train the local doctors and medical staff in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Post-Operative Care – ICU.  This project will run over a 3 year period which will allow OHI to prepare their training and equipment to achieve the desired outcomes of the Bolivian medical professions and intuitions.  OHI will pay for their own airfares, the Rotary Foundation’s Vocational Training Teams grant will pay all other costs.
 
Over the three years 10 OHI volunteers will travel to Bolivia for 8 days performing operations on 3 patients, that’s 24 patients will benefit directly every year for 3 years but training and guidance to the local medial professional will enable a sustainable cardiovascular treatment program.
 
BOLLYHILLS 2012 – This event raised funds to change the lives of the community at the Zinkapalem village in South India.  The community is now able to farm 9 months of the year instead of 3 months.  The children are back at school and the community is enjoying an economic growth.  This was made possible thru the funds raised from this program and a Rotary Foundation Matching Grant, the total value of the project was USD $35,000.
 
BOLLYHILLS 2013 – This event raised funds to support the Teaching Hospital Jaffna Sri Lanka.  Since the installation of the equipment’s purchased thru the funding of our Foundations Global Grant, the surgeons were able to perform 75 surgeries in just three weeks.  This project will benefit over 650,000 people directly and a population of 1.1 million who call this hospital as the base hospital.  This project was made possible thru a partnership with Australian Medical Aid Foundation.  This event and a contribution of AUD $50,000 from AMAF was matched by The Rotary Foundation, which resulted to provide Medical Equipment to the value of USD $125,000.
 
BOLLYHILLS 2014 – The funds raised from this event went to support the Path Lab Project of the Rotary Club of Applecross WA.  This Project will service a need for faster identification of infectious diseases in the Northern part of Sri Lanka.  It will also involve Rotarians in Australia and Sri Lanka, involve cooperating Organisations, provide special onsite training on the new equipment and prove that it is a sustainable addition to Sri Lanka’s Public Health services.  the total value of the project was USD $240,000.  This project is to be completed in 2015 / 2016.
