Passionate and District trained facilitators available to support clubs map their future – Club Visioning

Recently Rotarians from a number of clubs gave up their Saturday to learn and develop knowledge and skills that can be called upon to support clubs to set a vision and plan for their future.
The “resource” available to clubs is called Club Visioning.   A club visioning session provides a vision for the future and the beginnings of a written plan that promotes consensus, consistency, and continuity. This statement of goals and initiatives provides a road map that’s easy for leaders and club members to understand. It serves as a foundational piece for any club that wants to grow and become more effective.

Club visioning defines and celebrates the unique culture of each club through facilitated delivery of eight sequenced exercises supporting our motto of “Service Above Self”. Visioning allows the club members to dream about what their club could become. From the aspirations that are revealed comes a new sense of identity and a renewed commitment to make a club better than it is today.

Congratulations to the District’s newest Club Visioning Facilitators:
  • Mr Unmesh Bhargava - Roseville Chase
  • Mr Greg Groppenbacher - Kariong / Somersby
  • Ms Christine Owen - Kincumber
  • Mr David Perabo - Chatswood Sunrise
  • Mr John Turner - Northbridge
  • Ms Amanda Woods - Southern Cross E-Club
As the incoming board and President Elect emerge from clubs’ Annual General Meetings there is an opportunity for the current Board and President Elect to think about positioning the club for the 2016-17 Rotary Year and beyond.   The stark reality for many clubs is that if nothing changes in the next five years i.e. by 2020 there will be insufficient members to make a difference to and or change lives in the local, national or world community.  Just reflect on your club’s membership profile, club projects and activities and financial reserves – are they sustainable in the absence of thoughtful, purposeful and enabling planning.

Should a club wish to discuss what is involved and or participate in club Visioning please contact the District 9685 Club Vision Facilitation Chair - David Mylan (Terrigal) on 0411 878 854 or email clubvisioning@rotarydistrict9685.org.au
