This June, District 5010 will celebrate an occasion that you played a significant role in making happen. The Russian Rotary Clubs of District 5010 will begin their venture in the Rotary world as District 2225. The celebration and chartering of the new district will take place during the District Conference in Omsk, Russia, June 21-24. Joan and I are planning to make the trip and we would be delighted to have you join us as your schedule allows.  Information on the conference and a link to the online registration form, can be found on the 5010 District website www.Rotary5010.org or  www.conf.rotary-omsk.ru. Take a look, I think you will be most pleased to see how far we have come.

In addition, we are collecting letters of congratulations from sponsors and friends of Rotary in Russia to be presented to incoming Governor Andrei A. Konushok and District 2225 Rotarians at the conference. You are invited and encouraged to send your greetings and congratulations. PDG Alana Bergh is collecting the letters and will assemble them for presentation.  Please send your letters to Alana by June 5 at alanabergh@yahoo.com.

It has been a wonderful and interesting 20-year journey preparing and working for this event and working with our Russian colleagues. I often sit back and recall the times we had there together and I truly thank you for your good work and participation.  As it goes forward, District 2225 will still have a need for your friendship and support as Rotary continues to develop in Eastern Russia so lets stay in touch.

Hope to see you in Omsk to wish the Rotarians of District 2225 congratulations, best wishes and continued success!

In friendship and service to Rotary,

Lloyd V Morris

Governor, Rotary District 5010
