The DG Official Zone Visit schedule finished up at the Central Coast Leagues Club on Saturday 15 October. Eight very enjoyable meetings, all unique to the Clubs and to their communities but all the same in their collective focus on Serving Humanity. Great exchange of information on Club activities and planned projects, with several outstanding contributions being recognised by Paul Harris Fellow awards. Great fun and great entertainment ranging from Singer/songwriter Pat in the mountains , Nick Farr-Jones, the Pardi Girls, Honkey Tonk Stefan, EBHS Strings right through to James Rhodes the Magician on the Coast (only 16 but definitely bound for Las Vegas!!) Thank you to all Rotarians who attended and to the Merry band of AGs that made it happen.....
I would like to do it again but my diary is now filling up with Club visits. When am I meeting with you at your Club???
At the last Zone visit I met our RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Service) Chair, Jan Pryor. What a busy lady she is!
Just back from Nepal and leading D9685 Clubs across more than 62 RAWCS projects, when most Districts have about 20 projects going....Well done Jan and Team..
Bette was active through the month participating in Days for Girls workshops. Janelle Dodd and all the Days for Girls Team are really delivering the goods. I attended for one session and worked with PDG John and the Rotary rotary cutter. (No, it's not a typo, just think about it) But will I be invited back?..
Missed out on winning North Rocks Rotary’s Days for Girls Trivia Night by 2.5 points. Still a fine effort from the Table Ten (Elliotts, Andrea, Alex and the Lakins) But an even better effort by President Monica and the Trivia Quiz Organising Committee....Thank you for a terrific night.
"Shine A Light on Rotary"
District Conference 2017 launched last month. You all have received a personal invitation to join in on Saturday 11 March. Please don't miss the opportunity by delaying your registration. There is a lucky draw incentive if you book early......and you will make the Organising Committee very happy campers.
Happy 5th Birthday to the E-Club of Greater Sydney......Keep up your good work...
The Rotary Clubs of the Hawkesbury combined to hold a
Dream Cricket day last week. What a great day for about 100 special needs children from the local primary schools! A beautiful warm sunny day on Richmond Oval with children,
teachers and Rotarians having fun in the sun. A Rotary BBQ for lunch and the DG keeping wickets. Followed by the local MP, Dominic Perrottet, and the DG presenting GOLD medals to all the children. Everyone was a winner on the day. Congratulations to Tony Miller and the Rotary Clubs of Windsor, Richmond and Kurrajong- North Richmond. Howzat!!!!!......If you are looking for a project to support your local primary school ????
Rotaract is happening in D9685.....Central Coast sprang back into life after taking some time off and Northern Beaches held their charter night on 28 October. Thanks to the sponsoring/supporting Clubs and to the Rotaractors.
November is Rotary Foundation month. There are many way to get into the spirit. You know about the Centurion Towers.....Fill em up and hand em in! All Clubs have commemorative $26.50 notes for you to purchase......for a donation of $26.50. On Monday 28 November come along and join me and your Rotary mates at the $Million Dinner. It will not cost you $1m (unless you really want it to!) and you will enjoy the night. You probably know that it was a donation of $26.50 from Rotary Club of Kansas City that kicked off the Foundation in 1917. Well, look at us now....Look at all the good that we have done in the world. During November please have a little think about how you may be able to push it along a little further.
Hope to meet you during the month at your Club,
