We invite you to give a gift that will go beyond your lifetime: a donation to The Rotary Foundation’s endowment, the Permanent Fund. This fund enables individuals to combine their gifts into a significant force to address the world’s greatest needs for generations to come.

The initial target of US$200 million for the Permanent Fund was met in 2005, six years ahead of schedule. The next target is $1 billion by 2025.

In a Rotary year, about $8 million from the Permanent Fund is made available to support Foundation programs.

This is the growing corpus of funds that allows or Foundation to continue carrying out its role as one of the world's greatest and most cost-effectvie charities.

I have the task this year of inviting more District 9680 Rotarians to think about leaving a bequest to the Foundation, or becoming a Benefactor to the Foundation. While becoming a member of the Paul Harris Society involves us making a regular contribution in real money each year, the great benefit of being a benefactor is that the contribution comes from your estate as designated by your will after you pass on. And even though many of us nowadays need to be careful in our daily expense management, most of us are in a position where even a generous donation from our assets will not be burdensome to our families coming from our estate.

I do ask you to consider becoming a benefactor, or joining the Bequest Society and I have attached forms for both. All matters are treated in the strictest of confidence, and I am available if you have any questions you wish to have answered.

I look forward to hearing from you
