Welcome
Welcome
To Presidents Elect of all Clubs in District 9685, this opportunity is the most important part of our organization within the District. All our members connect through our Clubs to the communities we serve and other members who support and make our work possible around the world.
Thank you for taking on this responsibility, perhaps not for the first time, in preparing to become President of your Club in the future. The District 9685 Learning and Development Team, and the entire District of 66 Clubs, are here to help you with advice and services to make your role as effective and fulfilling for you and, in turn, your Board and members. We hope we can work together with your cohort so that we can support you where and when needed to make the coming year as productive and satisfying as possible. The President Elect Training occurs in March of each year, and is promoted throughout the District through emails and newsletters.
Self-directed learning
In working with you, the focus is on self-directed learning on your own time. We all bring a huge range of knowledge and experience from our home and work life, and from Rotary, but we all have something more to learn. Networking with other Presidents Elect, some of whom have served as Club Presidents in the past, and learning with, and from, each other is a huge part of this learning program.
Learning Center
Start with your own self-directed learning through the Learning Center. Start as soon as you can so you will not be overloaded in January and February with PELD learning and development sessions in March. There are 12 courses in the Rotary International Learning Center set up for incoming Club Presidents. There are four other optional courses. The Learning Center is packed with all sorts of other valuable learning opportunities, relevant to your role this year and next, and to your fellow Board and Club members.
