In July last year The Rotary Club of Winston Hills merged to become part of the Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville.  Members of the merged Club agree this has been a very positive move as they continue to work in the community of Winston Hills and surrounding areas while joining with other Rotarians in supporting communities in the Hills area of Sydney.

President Ray Campbell and members of The Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville are looking forward to hosting The Australia Day Breakfast, which has been organized by Rotary for over 25 years.  A large crowd is once again expected at the Rotary Club of Winston Hills Australia Day Breakfast and Citizenship festivities at Third Settlement Reserve Edison Parade Winston Hills.

Community Service Director Joan van den Burg commented “The Club has developed strong local partnerships that have provided great support to ensure that residents of our community have an opportunity to come along join in the fun and ignite national pride in this historic landmark area of Winston Hills”.

Rotary is working closely with Parramatta City Council and the State Member for Seven Hills Mark Taylor to once again hold a Citizenship Ceremony as part of the event, which has been very well received in the past by providing residents an opportunity to welcome our newest citizens to our community.

“This is a special day for our community and with such a diverse range of entertainment and activities organised by The Rotary Club of The Hills-Kellyville  with the support of other local community groups.” said Past President Joan.

The morning will start at 7.30am at Third Settlement Reserve Winston Hills with a great Aussie breakfast of cereal, bacon and eggs, damper and golden syrup, followed by great entertainment and activities.

The local Scouts and Girl Guides will participate in the flag raising ceremony, as part of this year’s Citizenship Ceremony will see 27 people become Australian Citizens.

Throughout the morning there will be even more activities for all the family including the popular thong throwing competition and the popular antique steam engine rides.  There will also be displays of antique machinery, woodturning, local flora and fauna, historical information on the area, artwork, cultural dancing, a bush band and lots of games and competitions for the children.
