Rotary Brisbane Water Supports Capes for Kids! πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ

On 10th October, Vice President Jayne Mote and Environment Officer Lillias Bovell joined Umina CWA President Lyn Griffiths at Everglades to meet with the wonderful CWA Sewing Group and Capes for Kids volunteers.

We were thrilled to present our club donation of colourful material – featuring vibrant children's and Christmas patterns – to support this incredible organisation's mission.
Our $1,000 donation has purchased enough fabric to create nearly 50 superhero capes for children in hospitals across NSW. These special capes bring joy and comfort to young patients during their hospital stay, and they get to take them home as a treasured keepsake when discharged.

The dedication and enthusiasm of these talented sewers and volunteers were truly inspiring – they were over the moon with our support!
We're incredibly proud to partner with Capes for Kids in bringing smiles to children when they need it most. This is community service in action!
