To keep this wonderful program alive District 9685 is urgently seeking a new Secretary.
The Youth Exchange Committee requires a new secretary. This position is pivotal to the smooth working of the Youth Exchange Committee and as such requires a well organised person with good secretarial and information management skills.We would prefer a Rotarian but we are open to any qualified person. The usual WWC checks apply and there is some weekend work involved. We pay an honorarium to the secretary. It is envisaged that this is not a full time position and can be easily managed as a part time role.

You want to be involved with Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE), but your club isn’t currently involved.
You are wondering how to get in on the action with Rotarians and our amazing youth.
The answer is become or nominate as a host family.
Rotary Youth Exchange is a wonderful opportunity for Australian students to learn about themselves and the world through living overseas and going to school in a foreign country. Rotary Youth exchange builds lifelong friendships and creates future Rotarians changing lives along the way. But the program needs assistance through host families which are part of the reciprocal conditions.
Your club may not be hosting a student at present, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be. Youth Exchange definitely keeps you young! Students love being hosted by empty nesters during part of their exchange as empty nesters often have more time to provide extra attention and to help with language learning.
As Norman Swan told us at the District Conference, a way to avoid certain issues as you age is to challenge yourself to new activities. RYE is perfect for that!!
We have small clubs who are willing to be part of the program but can’t find enough host families.
Could you or someone you know who lives anywhere in our district help host for about a school term? It is rewarding and fun.
Training is available and the Rotary structure means you always have people to enjoy and share the exchange with when you need to talk.
So, be a person of action, stay young and engaged through Rotary Youth Exchange.

We are inviting applications from current Year 9, 10 or 11 students who would like to spend 2027 as an exchange student.
This is truly the adventure of a lifetime. Families may also consider hosting an exchange student for a school term, an incredibly rewarding experience that builds lifelong connections.
