Rotary Youth Sailing Challenge
Looking to meaningfully impact a young person’s future?
Voyages provide young participants with a series of unique challenges, ones they would not otherwise encounter in our modern urban society.
Challenges are very real but planning and procedures are such that the organisers always know participants will be safe.
The RYSC program has been growing rapidly and is operating in South Australia on the tall ship the One and All  and in Victoria on their tall ship the Enterprize.
There are two ships that have been organised for use in NSW to sail 5-day Rotary voyages sailing either up or down the New South Wales coast and returning to the harbour.

The Oxford Falls Peace Park - Wakehurst Parkway between Northern Beaches Hospital and Narrabeen Lagoon
Rotarians joined Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins the day prior to the United Nations International Day of Peace to dedicate a Peace Pole at Oxford Falls Peace Park.
Why a Peace Pole? Japanese philosopher Masahisa Goi dedicated his life to spreading the message May Peace Prevail on Earth. The pole has peace messages written in English, Italian, Chinese, French and Portuguese as the native tongues of the most people on the Northern Beaches. Tibetan was added as more than 1,000 members of the Tibetan community reside on Northern Beaches, making it the largest concentration of Tibetan-Australians in the country.
Several members of the Tibetan community joined, along with MP Michael Regan, Interact students from Davidson High School and a soon to travel Rotary Youth Exchange student and family, for the dedication.
While we all know that planting a peace pole will not create peace, Rotary programs help promote peace by fostering goodwill, understanding and friendships.
Rotary has Peace Action Groups, Peacebuilder Clubs, Interact Clubs, Rotary Youth Exchange program, Rotaract, Rotaract Scholarships and many more programs, all aiming to build peace.
