Together, We Are Creating Lasting Change and Strengthening Rotary’s Image
Dear Fellow Rotarians,

As my term as your District Rotary Foundation Chair draws to a close, I want to sincerely thank you. Your generosity and commitment to creating a better world continue to inspire me and make me proud to be part of this district.
Through The Rotary Foundation, our district is currently delivering 25 Global Grants valued at USD 1.95M+ and 33 District Grants, transforming lives both locally and globally. As we continue this journey, let us focus on projects that not only create impact but also strengthen Rotary’s image in our communities.
The strength of our Foundation is not measured in dollars alone but in dignity restored, communities strengthened, and futures reimagined.
This year, your generosity has delivered:
  • 25 Global Grants – USD 1.95M+ in impact
  • 33 District Grants – AUD 227K+ supporting grassroots initiatives
  • 99 Major Donors/AKS members and 51 Bequest Society members, ensuring a lasting legacy
These are not just numbers; they are stories of transformation.
In our own backyard, we’ve seen what’s possible when Rotary leads with purpose.
Following the Black Summer bushfires, communities in the Blue Mountains transformed devastation into resilience, creating a Disaster and Community Resilience Centre that now stands as a lifeline for future emergencies.
It reinforced a powerful truth: When Rotary is involved, credibility grows, partnerships follow, and communities believe.
This is how Rotary strengthens its image, not through words, but through visible, meaningful impact.
We now have an opportunity to go further.

From Devastation to Resilience
How Rotary helped rebuild a community and prepare it for the future
Project: Disaster & Community Resilience Centre
Club: Rotary Club of Upper Blue Mountains Sunrise
Location: Bell, Clarence & Dargan – Blue Mountains, NSW
Following the Black Summer bushfires, communities were left without a safe, dedicated space to gather during emergencies highlighting a critical gap in disaster preparedness.
Through a The Rotary Foundation Global Grant, Rotary partnered with the community to transform bare land into a purpose-built Disaster and Community Resilience Centre a safe haven during crises and a hub for preparedness and recovery.
  • Safe shelter during bushfires and emergencies
  • Reliable water supply and sanitation facilities
  • Training and preparedness infrastructure
  • A multi-purpose space strengthening community connection
This project became a catalyst, unlocking support from the government, local councils, and partners. It showed that when Rotary leads, others follow.
From disaster to resilience, this project highlights Rotary’s ability to move beyond recovery to build stronger, more prepared communities for the future.
Think About Your Next Project: Is it visible, community-led, and impactful?
If yes, you’re not just delivering a project, you’re strengthening Rotary’s presence and relevance.

Let us support projects that are:
  • Impactful and community-led
  • Visible and scalable
  • Built through partnerships
  • Capable of telling a compelling Rotary story
Because every strong project does two things: Transforms lives and elevates Rotary’s presence in the community.
Our Annual Fund giving of USD 124,985 remains the engine behind this work, ensuring Rotary is ready to respond when opportunity meets need.
Our commitment to End Polio Now, with USD 46,630 contributed, reflects our promise to the world that no child will suffer from polio again.
Through the Bequest Society, we also ensure that our impact continues well beyond our lifetime.
As we approach the end of the Rotary year, I encourage every club to:
  • Give generously to the Annual Fund
  • Support high-impact, visible projects
  • Tell your stories with pride
  • Position The Rotary Foundation as your charity of choice
Because when Rotary shows up with impact, communities take notice, partnerships grow, and membership follows.
Together, we are not just funding projects; we are shaping Rotary’s future and building stronger, more resilient communities.

Thank you for your continued support
