Rotary Clubs make a positive contribution to “closing the gap” through Indigenous Communities Partnership Programs. Rotary Clubs are encouraged to develop projects in conjunction with Aboriginal communities that will lead to long-term positive outcomes.
Successful programs in the past few years include “Books in Homes” at Moree East Public School, The Ophthalmic project for the Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service, Cabbage Tree Island community project (gym equipment and surf boards), End Trachoma Now, and Purple House. |
The Basic Education and Literacy Rotary Action Group is a network of Rotarians and others passionate across the world who have a special interest in acting upon the mission and goals of Rotary International related to alleviating illiteracy; enhancing literacy teaching and learning globally, and helping to provide materials and equipment for literacy education at different levels.
BELRAG supports Rotary to implement basic education and literacy projects that strengthen the capacity of communities to provide education and literacy to all.

The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation is a national charity seeking to assist people in our most marginalised communities to gain vital language, literacy and communication skills. Specialised and innovative programs address the needs of a diverse range of individuals and communities – specifically supporting First Nations, refugee and other vulnerable Australians.

ARAM (Australian Rotarians Against Malaria) is a volunteer-run organisation working to eliminate malaria, particularly in the Pacific region.
The primary focus of ARAM has been the distribution of insecticide-treated nets to vulnerable populations in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and Timor Leste. ARAM works in conjunction with the Ministry of Health authorities in each country and complements the work of other malaria organisations, most notably the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
