DISTRICT GOVERNOR UPDATE OCTOBER 2025
October has been a full and inspiring month across our District! I’ve enjoyed visiting so many clubs and recognising their outstanding achievements.
Presenting Club Excellence Awards to Gosford City, Castle Hill, Warringah, and Greater Blue Mountains Rotary Clubs, and celebrating individuals like Ubah Gabris PHF +1 for her support of Interact and Youth programs.
There’s been great energy at events like the Nepean Rotary BBQ, Lane Cove Fair, the Great Duck Race, and the End Polio movie night, all showcasing Rotary’s spirit in action.
I also met with our Rotary Community Leaders. I welcomed Robert Erskine OAM to the team, joined Diwali celebrations, supported the Membership Taskforce workshop and Mary’s House Walk with fellow Rotarians wearing our ‘purple’ shirts, and joined the “Ride the Train to End Polio” on World Polio Day and a huge thanks to Mark and David Anderson for organising and to all the Rotarians that participated, a BIG thank you. It was terrific to see many Rotarians from District 9675 on the day as well.
The train ride across two districts raised over $100,000! The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is matching 2:1 = $207387.72
The month wrapped up with the Zone 8 Conference on the Gold Coast, followed by the St Marys Police Officer of the Year awards Launch at St Marys Police station and a presentation from David Ellery on the DG Partner project.
Thank you, everyone, for all your efforts and commitment in serving the community. I am proud to walk alongside you.
A fantastic way to end a busy and productive month for Rotary in our District. District Governor Michele Ellery
